HAMMER Shrine Bowl Trip – Dec. 2011

HAMMER had a great experience on its overnight trip to the South Carolina vs. North Carolina Shrine Bowl.  The young men experienced many firsts; grits, catfish, and an 8-hour road trip to name a few. The tour of Wofford College was great. We were very blessed to be given a tour from an African American young man who grew up in a single parent home. He was in college on a full football scholarship and was a member of one of the fraternities. He also did very well academically.  He was able to relate to the young men and was very forward and sincere when answering their questions. We would like to thank God for His grace and mercy in allowing us to have a safe, productive trip, the young men for conducting themselves like young men, the parents for entrusting us with their valuable treasures and the TOLBC family for their donations.
