Sin & Temptation Questions – Ch. 8

TOLBC believes that growth in the Christian faith is a life-long endeavor and that one of the places it can happen best is in Sunday School class. Sunday school is important in the spiritual development of Christians. It is the only place in most churches that gives a systematic, comprehensive, complete coverage of the Word of God. Currently we are studying “Sin and Temptation” by John Owen. We invite you to join us.

Chapter 8: Entering Into Temptation (Pages 103-107)

  1. Can a Christian be genetically susceptible to a specific temptation?
  2. Read Gen. 3:1-5; giving the opportunity, what counsel would you have given Eve before she fell for the serpent’s temptation? (I am looking for three well defined points)
  3. You have been invited to Wall Street to speak to a group of investors about risk taking, based on your knowledge of “entering into temptation,” what would you say to them?
  4. Can a Christian enter into temptation without been allured? What is the your interpretation of Gal. 6:1 (specifically the word “caught”)?
