Sunday School Questions – Topic: Joshua

TOLBC believes that growth in the Christian faith is a life-long endeavor and that one of the places it can happen best is in Sunday School class. Sunday school is important in the spiritual development of Christians. It is the only place in most churches that gives a systematic, comprehensive, complete coverage of the Word of God. Currently we are tackling difficult passages in the bible. We invite you to join us.

Tackling the Difficult Passages in the Bible – Joshua

  1. Rahab lied about the spies (Josh. 2:4-ff), and she was delivered when Jericho was destroyed. Did God reward a lie?
  2. Is it possible for a fortified wall (made of brick and mortar) to crumble at the sound of trumpets and shout of the people (Josh. 6:20)?
  3. Is it fair that all the inhabitants of Jericho were killed (including women and young, except for Rahab and her family- Josh 6:21)?
  4. Is it fair for Achan’s sons and daughters to die for their father’s sin (Josh. 7:16-26)?
  5. Did the sun actually stood still or a misunderstanding of meteorology (Josh. 10:12-13)?
  6. Joshua 24:19 ” . . . He will not forgive your transgression or your sins.” Does this statement contradict other biblical passages that speak of God’s forgiveness?
