Sunday School Questions – Topic: Political Leaders

TOLBC believes that growth in the Christian faith is a life-long endeavor and that one of the places it can happen best is in Sunday School class. Sunday school is important in the spiritual development of Christians. It is the only place in most churches that gives a systematic, comprehensive, complete coverage of the Word of God. Currently we are studying “Wisdom for Today’s Issues: A Topical Arrangement of the Proverbs” by Stephen Voorwinde. We invite you to join us.

“Wisdom For Today’s Issues.” Topic: Political Leaders

  1. Biblically, who are political leaders? (Please search the Scripture for the answer to this question)
  2. Which law should be most important to a political leader, the rule of law or the law of God? Why do political leaders lay hand on the Bible instead of the constitution during their inauguration?
  3. Is it possible for a political leader to effectively preserve the rule of law without preserving the law of God?
  4. When a Christian knowingly votes for a candidate who promotes “anti-biblical” principles, has the Christian sinned? Assuming two atheists are running for president, should a Christian vote?
  5. When a political leader is elected through a false and deceitful campaign, does that mean his/her election is ordained by God?
  6. Can a good and holy God ordain evil political leaders?
  7. Explain Prov. 21:1
