Wisdom For Today’s Issues Questions – Pgs. 7-8

TOLBC believes that growth in the Christian faith is a life-long endeavor and that one of the places it can happen best is in Sunday School class. Sunday school is important in the spiritual development of Christians. It is the only place in most churches that gives a systematic, comprehensive, complete coverage of the Word of God. Currently we are studying “Wisdom for Today’s Issues: A Topical Arrangement of the Proverbs” by Stephen Voorwinde. We invite you to join us.

Chapter 1: Wisdom For Today’s Issues.” Pages 3-6

  1. Is the Bible anti-drinking (alcohol)? If so, does that make drinking (alcohol) a sin? If not, does that make drinking (alcohol) acceptable?
  2. Is an alcoholic a sinner?
  3. Conduct an exposition of this verse: “And do not get drunk with wine, for this is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit (Eph. 5:18)”
  4. You have been invited to speak at a “MADD” (Mothers Against Drunk Drinking) conference on the topic: “DUI and DWI offenders should be placed in the same category as sex offenders.” How would you approach this topic?
